Octopath Traveler Old Coin

As you play through Octopath Traveler you’ll come across various items that you may not know what to do with. One of these items that a lot of people have been running into is the Old Coin in Octopath Traveler. The Octopath Traveler Old Coin does have a purpose, but it may not be as luxurious as you might hope. Read on to find out what to use the Old Coin for in Octopath Traveler!

Octopath Traveler Old Coin

There are four main types of items you’ll come across in Octopath Traveler. Some items you can equip, like armor or weapons, some items are quest items that you can’t sell and are kept in a separate tab, other items you can use to make things, and finally there are items that are in the game solely to give you some extra change in your coin purse. This is where the Old Coin and many other items fall.

You’ll find the Old Coin and similar items throughout the game. If you press Y to see the description of the item, you’ll find that it tells you the item may catch a fair price if sold. That means the item has no purpose other than to be sold at a shop so you can make a little money.

If you come across an Old Coin, there’s no need to hold on to it. You won’t need to use it for a quest or anything of importance. The only reason the Old Coin is in the game is to be sold so you can make more money.
