Nioh 2 Soul Match Guide – What Is This

So, you’re curious about what Soul Matching might be in Nioh 2. If you haven’t heard the term before, the easiest way for you to get yourself acquainted is to just head over to your local, trusty Blacksmith. Soul Matching is the process by which you can level up your gear by essentially shoving another piece of gear into it. One piece of gear absorbs the other, and the original piece of gear grows in level based on the gear that it essentially just consumed. That’s a bit simple, so let’s wind it back a little bit.

Soul Matching is a service that will require the following:

  • The item you want to level up
  • The item you’re happy to lose to level up the first item
  • Gold

You’re not going to need to come up with any other extra materials when it comes to crafting, which is handy, even though finding a lot of them is essentially about kicking around the world and slicing monsters up with your weapons (and there’s actually a whole ton of them if you weren’t already acquainted with our weapon types guide). Soul Matching can only be done between gear and weapon types that are matching. This means that the item that you want to level up has to be the same type as the item that you’re sacrificing. Furthermore, the item level gap between the two determines how much it actually costs in terms of Gold; the bigger the difference, the more expensive the Soul Matching process. Because of this, you might find that it isn’t the most cost-effective solution if you’re wanting to stick two items of two really disparate levels into each other.

Now that you have our Nioh 2 Soul Match guide to help you with the best way to level and improve your gear, it should be a little easier for you to get to the power level that you need to in order to crush all the enemies in your path. This is a good way for you to increase the level of your items so long as you’re careful and efficient about it, so make sure that you’re following our general tips!
