If you’re having a hard time accessing this alternate route and getting behind that waterfall for some stellar shots, we’ve got you covered with a quick little walkthrough on how to get behind the waterfall in New Pokemon Snap!

New Pokemon Snap | How to Get Behind the Waterfall

In the Founja Jungle course at night in New Pokemon Snap, there’s an alternate route that’ll take you behind the waterfall so long as you’re quick enough to spot it.

You’ll also have to perform a few key steps in order to open up the option to take the alternate waterfall route.

  • Play the Founja Jungle (Night) course (research Lv. 2 or higher).

  • Wait until you see the sleeping Liepard on a rock after being taken up into the treetops.

  • Press “R” to play music as soon as you see Liepard to wake it up and move it off the rock.

  • When you see the circular prompt above where the Liepard was sleeping, press X to scan and then press and hold X over the circle prompt to confirm you want to take the alternate route.

  • If you miss it, you can retry the course and hold “RT” to speed up the NEO-ONE to get back to the waterfall area quicker.

  • You’ll know you’re successful in interacting with the alternate route prompt when the NEO-ONE heads left past the rock and under the waterfall.

To get behind the waterfall in Founja Jungle, you’ll need to run through the Founja Jungle course at night with a research level at Lv. 2 or higher.

Towards the end of the course – when you go up in the tree and round the corner approaching the waterfall – you’ll see a Liepard slumbering on a rock.

To get behind the waterfall, you’ll need to play music to wake up the Liepard by pressing “R” to activate the music. Do this as soon as you see the Liepard on the rock. When done correctly, Liepard will move revealing the option to take an alternate route.

If you don’t see it, there will be another prompt to press “X” to scan and when you’ll do this, you’ll scan and be informed that it looks like there’s a way behind the waterfall. Unfortunately, this reminder won’t actually take you behind the waterfall.

If you missed the alternate route prompt to get behind the waterfall, you’ll need to replay the course and head back to the area with the slumbering Liepard and try again.

To speed up through the course and get there faster, you can hold “RT” to increase the speed of the NEO-ONE.

Once you’re behind the waterfall, you’ll follow Leafeon past some Morelull and slumbering Swampert. Leafeon will sit down at the end next to a Wooper and hang out.

If you turn around before exiting the waterfall you’ll see another Wooper running around behind you, giving you the opportunity to take a nice action shot if you like.

No matter what photos you decide to take, you should now know how to get behind the waterfall in Founja Jungle in New Pokemon Snap!
