Mortal Kombat 1: When Does Kombat Pack 1 Release? – Omni-Man, Homelander & More

I hope Omni-Man's fatality is the same as the viral video trend... IYKYK

Jumping into the world of Mortal Kombat, you’ll find a variety of talented martial artists, all embued with supernatural powers. Handling fire, acid, blood, and various other elements to their advantage, it’s kill or be killed here. However, it looks like things will be taking a turn into the supernatural with the addition of Kombat Pack 1, with new characters from various worlds joining in on the Kombat that is taking place. Let’s find out when we can expect to get our hands on these characters and who plans on joining in on the fun.

With an even split of newcomers and returning Mortal Kombat favorites, Kombat Pack 1 looks to bring the heat with plenty of new blood. Below, you’ll find all of the returning kombatants, alongside the new players in this duel to the death:

  • Quan Chi
  • Ermac
  • Takeda
  • Omni-Man
  • Peacemaker
  • Homelander

I’m pleasantly surprised to see Takeda make his way back into the franchise, as he was my favorite of the “Kombat Kids”, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the remainder of the cast either show up as Kameos or characters in Kombat Pack 2. However, I’m personally the most excited to see Omni-Man make his way into the game so we can finally put the question of who would win in a battle to the death against Homelander to rest.

Will Omni-Man, Peacemaker & Homelander Be Voiced By Their Original Actors?

It has been confirmed, and can also be seen in the credits of Mortal Kombat 1, that J.K. Simmons and John Cena will be returning to voice their respective characters, Omni-Man and Peacemaker. However, there has been no confirmation for the return of Anthony Starr to reprise his role as Homelander.

However, as you can see at the end of the trailer, it seems that Homelander will be the final character added to the Kombat Pack, so they may still be working on securing his voice to go alongside the character’s likeness. In the past, there have been licensed characters, such as the T-800 Terminator, that borrowed the character’s likeness but had a replacement voice actor come in. After the Megan Fox debacle, we can hope they’ll bring Anothony Starr into the booth to record these lines.

When Does Kombat Pack 1 Release?

It appears that the release of these characters will be staggered, with Omni-Man being the first to be released. With Homelander being the final character to release in Spring 2024, we’ll need to hold on for a bit longer before we can pit these two super-powered heroes against one another.

However, during an interview during SDCC with Boone, mentions of Omni-Man releasing “a few weeks” after Mortal Kombat 1 has fans excited to see when they’ll actually get their hands on this super-powered papa. It seems October may be a good month for Mortal Kombat 1 fans if NetherRealms Studios can follow through on this mention.

How Much Will Kombat Pack 1 Cost On Release?

On release, Kombat Pack 1 is going to come in at a whopping $39.99 on your platform of choice. While this is more than double the price of the Kombat Packs that were released for Mortal Kombat 11, you’ll be receiving 6 new characters alongside 5 new Kameo Characters to use for your fighting pleasure. If you’re patient, these DLC packs do go on sale rather often, so you may need to hold out on the FOMO if you’re hoping to play as Omni-Man for a lower price.

So, no matter if you’re planning on picking up Kombat Pack 1 or you want to wait it out for a while, Mortal Kombat 1 offers plenty to love if you’re a fan of the franchise.
