Marvel’s Midnight Suns has officially arrived. After being delayed into 2023, followed by a reversal of that decision, and a late-year launch, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is officially here to save the day on December 2, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and will reportedly become available on Nintendo Switch in 2023.

The new title from XCOM developer Firaxis games combines tactical roleplaying with the lore of the Marvel universe, as the developers describe, “Set in the darker, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG from the creators of XCOM. As the Hunter, a legendary demon slayer with a mysterious past, you’ll lead a team of legendary Marvel heroes as they attempt to stop the Mother of Demons from completing an ancient prophecy and summoning her evil master, Chthon.” Let’s take a look at the first review scores that this fresh take on the superhero genre has garnered.

Currently, Marvel’s Midnight Suns holds an 83 Metascore on PC, while PlayStation and Xbox platforms do not yet have any ratings. The reviews are largely positive for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, with the game appearing to have flown somewhat under the radar in a year of impressive new releases from various genres.

How Does Marvel’s Midnight Suns compare to other Marvel PC Games’ Metascores?

Marvel’s Midnight Suns falls in the middle of the pack regarding recent Marvel releases. On PC, Firaxis’ newest game trails Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which hold an 87 and 88 on the review aggregator, respectively. However, Midnight Suns leads Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, rated a 78 on Metacritic, and Marvel’s Avengers, which netted a 68 for its PC launch.
