Season five of Marvel Rivals starts on Nov. 14, 2025. This precise launch date was shared on the official season 4.5 and beyond roadmap, and is also displayed in-game when selecting the active Competitive mode season, as this specific mode always has countdown to let you know how much time is left to rank up and earn rewards.

The official launch time for this update is 3am CT, which is the same time past updates have been released. Marvel Rivals has a very consistent and steady update schedule, so as long as there are no issues that cause delays, we can expect this update to release at this time, too.

How Long is Marvel Rivals Season 5?

Marvel Rivals Season five will run for one full month, which means it should end around Dec. 14. Around this date, the season will transition into the halfway mark, which means season 5.5 will take over. After another month, season six will then begin.

Characters in Marvel Rivals Season 5

The heroes arriving in season five haven’t been officially revealed yet, but all seasons come with two new characters to play. One will debut right away with the start of the season, and the other will join in after a month has passed with the launch of season 5.5.

Although the upcoming heroes haven’t been officially announced, there’s a strong teaser hinting that the next recruits will be two of the most iconic X-Men. On the story behind the final image featured in the season four Heart of the Dragon Gallery, there’s a line that says, “And if you play your cards right and they don’t drain every last bit of your life force, I may make an appearance at your next tournament myself.”

This cryptic clue seems to directly hint at Gambit and Rogue as next season’s characters. Gambit is known for using cards in his powers, and Rogue is capable of draining life force to enhance her abilities. They’re a romantic duo, too, so having these hints right next to each other makes this an even stronger hint alluding to their arrival. We’ve also gotten plenty of future hero teases in the Gallery before, as was the case with both Daredevil and Angela’s arrival in season 4.

Gambit and Rogue’s roles haven’t been officially revealed, but Gambit seems guaranteed to be a Duelist, as his skillset doesn’t fit with either of the other two roles. Rogue is a bit of a trickier character to place, as she could easily fit into any of them. I’m hoping she’s either a Strategist or Vanguard, as we desperately need more of both, and her abilities could work well for either.

New seasons come with all kinds of exciting additions, including characters, maps, and so much more. Here’s everything we know is arriving in season five of Marvel Rivals so far.

  • Two new heroes – Gambit and Rogue will likely join the roster based on the Gallery card teaser.
  • New battle pass – A fresh battle pass packed with new skins, MVPs, emotes, and much more will launch as soon as the next season starts. The theme of this one hasn’t been revealed yet.
  • New and reworked Team-Ups – All new seasons shake up the Team-Up roster, so we can expect to see some big changes and fresh options. The launch hero will either introduce a new Team-Up or be added to an existing one, as has been the case with all new characters so far.
  • New maps – Each new season generally brings two new locations to explore. The first map will release in the first half of season five, while the second one will come later after the launch of season 5.5.
  • Cross-progression – The cross-progression feature is fully launching in season five, finally allowing you to carry your progress across different platforms.
  • New events – There always seems to be at least one event running in Marvel Rivals, if not more, so we can always expect to see fresh ones to tackle.
  • New skins, accessories, and more – We can expect to see plenty of fresh outfits throughout the season. Some of the looks we can expect are those that haven’t been released yet from the Immortal Beasts collection. We’ll also likely see several other cosmetic additions, like hero accessories.
  • Hero balance changes – All new seasons come with an array of buffs, nerfs, and general balance changes designed to even out the playing field, so expect to see some modifications to heroes on the roster. Daredevil, for example, is likely going to be massively nerfed, as most new characters end up being a bit too powerful and receive some fine-tuning in the next update following their release.

Official details about the upcoming season will likely be unveiled as it gets closer to release, so we’ll add them here as they’re revealed.
