As you progress further into the chaos that the Rabbids have wreaked upon the Mushroom Kingdom, you’re going to come head to head with several different types of enemies—some of which will be much harder to defeat than others. In this article we’ll tell you how to defeat the Buckler Shield Rabbids in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, which you’ll first encounter in World 2. If you’re having trouble beating Buckler Shield Rabbids, then keep reading to find out everything you need to know to get past their defenses and take them down.
How to Defeat Buckler Shield Rabbids
The thing that makes Buckler Shield Rabbids so dangerous is their shield, which allows them to block all damage that your team might put out in battle. Unfortunately, this isn’t an ability that is easy to counter, and it may take a few tries to really get the hang of taking these pesky Rabbids down, and even then you may have trouble later down the road.
The trick here, though, is to practice as much as possible, and you’ll get plenty of practice on these guys in World 2. But, enough about that, let’s actually dive into how you can defeat these annoying little buggers once and for all.
The only way to deal damage to the Buckler Shield Rabbids is to make your way around their flank. If you can manage to get a party member around to their side—or even their back—then you’ll be able to shoot past their shield and actually damage them. Remember not to bother wasting time shooting their fronts, as all damage there will be blocked by their shields.
The real pesky thing about these enemies, though, is the fact that their weapons have a chance to hit your party members with honey, which roots that character in place for one turn. This is especially tough if your goal is to make it to a certain point, or if you’re just caught trying to flank without any type of cover. We’d suggest grabbing the heal ability early on, as this will make it easier to combat any moments where your party members get stuck with honey.
As if the shield wasn’t enough, these Shield Buckler Rabbids can also temporarily buff themselves to deal additional damage, which means you should definitely take these guys out as quickly as possible. That’s everything you need to know to take out the Shield Buckler Rabbids, so be sure to head back over to our Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle guide for more helpful articles like how to play co-op, and even an in-depth guide on how to fast travel from different worlds back to Peach’s castle.
