Where to Find the Guitar Location in The Last of Us Part 2

During the prologue for The Last of Us Part 2, players will finally get to hear Joel playing a song on the guitar and can even try it out themselves. However, later on in the game, players can find the guitar location on their own and play a song if they’d like, but it won’t be part of the main story, you’ll have to seek it out.

There are at least two places that players can find the guitar location in The Last of Us Part 2. The first is in the Valiant Music Shop and the second is in The Theatre. If you’re not familiar with either of these locations, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. The Valiant Music Shop can be found during Chapter 9 when you’re in the Downtown area. The Theatre, on the other hand, can be found during Chapter 13: The Tunnels in the Seattle Day 1 area. In both cases, finding the guitar location is completely optional and is not required to advance the story.

Those that choose to hunt down The Last of Us Part 2 guitar location will be able to play any song they’d like, in theory. While you can simply strum randomly if you’d like, Naughty Dog has actually added in a feature that will allow you to change chords so you can play a real song. Once you’ve found the guitar location, to change chords press L1/R1 on your controller and to strum the guitar simply move your finger up and down on the Dualshock 4’s touchpad. Throughout the game, players will get to hear characters playing a song on the stringed instrument, but visiting these two guitar locations will allow players to try and play it themselves.

If you’ve already passed these two locations, The Last of Us Part 2 does feature a New Game Plus mode and will allow players to go back and play specific chapters once they’ve beaten the main campaign. All that to say, if you’ve missed the guitar locations, you can still go back and find them later on.
