What Is The Last of Us Part 2 File Size?

According to PlayStation, players should have around 100 GB of free space on their consoles if they want to download The Last of Us Part 2. However, now that the game is out, it seems that the file size is around 77.53 GBs. That being said, don’t be too surprised if a large patch is released by Naughty Dog in the first few days to clean up any bugs players may experience during their playthrough.

The Last of Us Part 2 file size is officially the largest of any PlayStation 4 game to date, almost doubling Marvel’s Spider-Man size of 45 GB. However, this shouldn’t come as a complete surprise, because prior to the release of The Last of Us Part 2, the record for the largest PS4 install size went to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4, coming in at 48 GB. Yes, you read that right, The Last of Us Part 2 install size is almost 30 GB larger than any other PlayStation 4 game.

It seems that the historical The Last of Us Part 2 file size isn’t for nothing, as there are a handful of collectibles to find scattered throughout the game. For example, there are a bunch of different safe combinations hidden around the different explorable areas that will unlock a variety of vaults. Players that go through all of the trouble to find these vaults will be rewarded with items like the Antique Ring, ammo, new weapons, and more.

There are also a bunch of trophies that players will need to earn if they plan to platinum the game. These trophies will require players to collect all of the hidden training cards, journal entries, visit every location, and much more. So, as you can see there is plenty of stuff to do in the game that helps justify the large install size.
