Save Theresa, Get a Horse

Run! begins just outside of Skalitz castle, immediately following the Cuman attack in the main story quest “Unexpected Visit”. Run downhill and head right along the path toward some small buildings.

As you approach the buildings with the horses out front, you’ll hear a woman screaming for help. It’s Theresa, the Miller’s niece.

You can choose to help save Theresa from the Cuman attackers by either whistling (press Y on Xbox or Triangle on PS4) to get their attention. Attacking them works too, but we suggest whistling to avoid a direct confrontation. Saving Theresa unlocks the Cavalier achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Gallop to Talmberg

Continue the Run! quest by mounting one of the nearby horses and galloping down the path toward Talmberg. The Cumans are right on your tail, so make sure to keep galloping by double tapping B or Circle to prevent them from hitting you with arrows. It’s tricky, since you’ll have to manage both Henry’s stamina as well as the horse’s green stamina, which is drained by galloping. Depleting too much of the horse’s stamina can cause it to buck you off. Briefly switch to cantering if you need to replenish a bit of stamina along the way.

Meet Sir Robard, Lord Divish, and Lady Stephanie

Upon arriving in Talmberg, you’ll watch a few cutscenes whereby you meet Sir Robard, who helps patch up your wounds. He takes you to meet Lord Divish, the ruler of Talmberg. Explain what happened back in Skalitz, then head down the stairs outside to meet up with Robard once more.

Eat and Sleep

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Lady Stephanie dialogue options

Speak with Robard in the courtyard and follow him to the kitchen, where he introduces you to Lady Stephanie. When prompted, help yourself to the food on the table to restore your nourishment stat. You can even snag some food for later if you wish.

After you are finished eating, return to your room to get some rest. To sleep, simply sit on your bed and select Sleep to input the length of time you want to snooze. Sleeping also allows you to save your game. It won’t matter much, since Lady Stephanie will interrupt your bedrest during the night for some wine and conversation.

Chatting with Lady Stephanie gives you the chance to develop your Speech, Charisma, and Strength stats using dialogue choices. Opt for the Speech dialogue options if you want to ensure you succeed in all responses with Lady Stephanie, since her Speech stat is only level 2.

Meet Sir Robard at the Battlements

Shortly after you go back to bed, Sir Robard wakes you up with news of a potential invasion. Head over to the battlements to meet Robard along the castle wall. You can get there by heading through the courtyard and going upstairs just before the drawbridge. Follow the wall to the opposite side to find Sir Robard.

Patrol and Wait Until Morning

After a few cutscenes, Sir Robard will ask you to stand watch on the walls until morning. During this time, you can chat with nearby guards to get their take on the recent events. They tell you to lean on the wall and wait for sunrise. To wait in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, simply press the touchpad on PS4 or the back button on Xbox, then set the wait time to around 5 a.m. In the morning, you will unlock a new quest marker and a cutscene will trigger.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Leave Talmberg

Leave Talmberg

Figuring out how to get out of Talmberg is one of the trickiest parts of the Run! quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. One way to leave Talmberg is by disguising yourself in Talmberg Armor and sneaking out incognito. This also allows you to get a horse on your way out of Talmberg. Check out our guide on how to escape Talmberg to learn how to get your first armor set in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Your other option is to let the guards catch you and throw you out of Talmberg, but this means you won’t be able to get a horse. You could also jump off the drawbridge, though it’s a bit of a rough landing.

Return to Skalitz

Once you have found a way to leave Talmberg, you can now return to Skalitz to bury your parents. When you get close enough to Skalitz, a cutscene will play and the Homecoming quest will begin.

Now that you have made it through the Run! main story quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you can move onto Homecoming, where you will need to know where to find the spade in Skalitz. For more tutorials and guides, check out our Kingdom Come: Deliverance game hub.
