Is Zelda Evil in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)? – Answered

Running around looking for Zelda throughout the entire game, it’s a fair question to ask.

In Tears of the Kingdom, you spend the entire time searching high and low, and far and wide for Princess Zelda. You’re either trying to survive the cold with a hearty meal or trying to keep cool in Death Valley conditions. All while this is unfolding, you’re trying to stay alive, both in Hyrule and the Great Sky Islands. When you’re in the depths, that’s because you chose to be in that God-forsaken place, so it doesn’t count as a fight for survival.

All the while, visions and the voice of Princess Zelda seem to creepily invade Link’s surroundings during his adventure, and some of them have an oddly sinister tone to them. This begs the question – is Zelda Evil in Tears of the Kingdom?

Is Princess Zelda Evil in Tears of the Kingdom?

While fending for your dear life as a construction worker by day and Robin Hood by night with Dr. Strange’s magic powers, your quest keeps getting interrupted by the Blood Moon cutscene that’s narrated by Zelda.

To say this cutscene raises a few questions is an understatement. It raises many questions, in fact. However, the most prominent one is: Is Princess Zelda Evil in Tears of the Kingdom? Another action that also raises questions about the princess’s character is the recipe she gave to the farmer that made his goats run away.

Happily, the answer to this is no. No, Zelda is not evil in Tears of the Kingdom, and I can’t believe we would ever doubt her character and loyalty to the cause of trying to save Hyrule and its inhabitants. Despite looking like she was possessed by a Mind Flayer from Stranger Things in some of Link’s visions, Zelda’s intentions have always been for the good of Hyrule.
