How to Play Marvel Snap with Friends

Is the M.O.D.O.K. Marvel Snap February Season Pass Worth It?

Not an overpowered Season Pass card, but we'll see.

M.O.D.O.K. (let’s keep it MODOK for the sake of my dot key on the keyboard, I didn’t buy my extended warranty) is the new Season Pass card that Marvel Snap players who pay the Season Pass will get automatically, while the rest will need to wait for it to be relegated to the Token Shop after this season ends (it will cost 6000 Collector Tokens) and to the Tier (Pool) 5.

If you do not want to wait for this, you are put before a choice. Is the MODOK Marvel Snap February Season Pass Worth It? Should you buy it? Prima Games will provide an opinion below.

Should I Buy the M.O.D.O.K. Season Pass in Marvel Snap?

If we put aside the other rewards you get for the price of the Season Pass (which are fairly decent) we can just commit to the study of M.O.D.O.K. and his impact on the meta. I currently do not see it being broken as much as Silver Surfer and Zabu were broken. Hopefully, the card designer team has learned their lesson, because it would be good if we kept getting decently powered Season Pass cards, that do not create a Tier Zero environment. After all, everyone wants to have games in their life as a source of fun and escapism, not as a forced chore and grind. Right? RIGHT?

Reasons for purchase: Fun and unstable deck that will produce random results and deliver those dopamine hits when you nail that Invisible Woman -> MODOK -> Hela Combo and win.

Reasons against purchase: Meta has been loosened up and we have a healthier diversity of top decks, and you do not need MODOK in order to compete with the field.

Personal choice: Wouldn’t buy it anyway because I’ve had my fair share of high-roll lottery decks in-game already and my collection needs just a few more cards so that I can play what I want (lucky rolls with just three season passes (so, less than $50 invested)), but this decision has been reinforced by my desire to stick with the “voting with my wallet” doctrine because of the entire Silver Surfer and Zabu mess, plus some other mishaps that I do not want to approve of by continuing to subscribe to the Season Pass. I honestly want them to do better, and I want Marvel Snap to be a big game with a competitive scene, and if enough people send a signal by committing to the purchase abstinence, it might cause some positive, forward-motion decisions for the game which in the end, result in the majority of the player base being happy. They are showing that they are listening to their community (albeit with some delay), and I hope that we’ll have a healthy game when it leaves Early Access.
Who am I kidding, about 5% of the players from the “Whale” category are funding this entire game.

How Good is M.O.D.O.K. Actually?

MODOK requires an extensive setup to work in most cases, so it can be treated as a high-roll card. In addition to that, it can be countered with a handful of cards that you can regularly play in most decks, so this naturally increases the risk of running a MODOK deck. However, if MODOK is left unattended and you draw all of the relevant combo pieces, you will demolish your opponent. See some of the decks below:
