We’re about one week from the Season 3 update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone and that means it’s almost time for plenty of weapon news. Ahead of the full blog post, some information has come out about one of the latest weapon additions that appear to be the Intervention.
To get some traction going with the update, Activision invited players such as FaZe Dirty to preview the update, which contains a fresh sniper for Season 3. In this guide, we’ll outline whether it was the Intervention that was shown off and what else we can expect.
COD MW2 Season 3 – Is the Intervention on the Way?
The star weapon for the new season will be the Intervention as we know it from the original Modern Warfare 2. Instead of the classic name we all recognize, the sniper rifle will be called the FJX Imperium, which will be part of a new platform. That means plenty of attachments to change the weapon as well.
Players can expect the update to arrive on April 12 along with a new weapon and a couple of additional weapons in the latest Battle Pass. The rest of the weapon hasn’t been revealed just yet, but we at least have confirmation that the Intervention is the next weapon to arrive in COD MW2.

Whether it will be as good as the original version still remains to be seen. Based on opinions and footage from FaZe Dirty, the rifle sits somewhere in between the SPX-80 and the MCPR-300. Only time will tell if that’s enough for the FJX Imperium to take over in MW2 Season 3.
