Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a brand new title and IP from CAPCOM that takes us to the studio’s early 2000s days when they were experimenting with different genres and playstyles. This combination of tower-defense mechanics, and active combat is a breath of fresh air, and there’s a lot to like here. Its design is perfect for handhelds, but is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess playable on the Steam Deck? Here is everything you need to know.

Is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Playable on the Steam Deck?

Yes, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is playable on the Steam Deck and has a “Verified” status.

In our experience, locking the game to 30 FPS/ 30 HZ using the Steam Deck’s frame limiter with high settings is the way to go. The default settings put almost everything on low and image quality down to 70% to attain 60 FPS, but that means the game will look quite pixelated, and the presentation is severely compromised.

The 30 FPS cap will ensure a smooth experience, as well as high-quality visuals as this is a fantastic-looking title. With the 30 FPS cap, you can basically put most settings at a high value, but avoid volumetric fog. Additionally, while you can increase the image quality to 110%, we don’t recommend it because it can impact performance. You can play at a near 60 FPS with the default settings, but it’s not recommended.

Apart from performance, we found that all the text was readable, and if you’re more used to the PlayStation button prompts, you can use those as well.

Overall, this is another great title for the Steam Deck from CAPCOM. We hope that even more future improvements are planned for an improved experience, but even in its current state, there’s a lot to like here.
