Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is one of the most fun games of the year, and it’s great to see CAPCOM take a stab at the strategy action genre. The PC version has plenty of settings to tweak, and despite some stability issues, there’s a lot to like here. While Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess has ultrawide support, it’s a bit limited in its implementation, and you’ll see black bars in cutscenes. Here is how you can fix this issue using a tried and tested tool.

Fixing the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Ultrawide Cutscenes

To fix the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess ultrawide cutscenes issue and remove black bars, you need to use the REFramework tool created by praydog.

The REFramework is an excellent tool that has been instrumental in tweaking RE Engine releases beyond their typical settings. It has been updated to support Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and you can easily install it to get rid of the black bars. Installing REFramework is really easy, and here is how you can do that.

  • Head over to the following GitHub link, and download the latest DD2 build (DD2.zip)
  • Extract the DD2.zip file and copy the dinput8.dll to the game’s installation folder. You only need to copy this file from the zip file.
steamapps\common\Kunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess
  • Now, launch Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and the REFramework window will show up automatically
  • Scroll down a bit and expand Graphics
  • Under Ultrawide/FOV Options, and check the first option
  • That’s all you need to do, and you can toggle the tool window on or off by pressing the Ins key

After this, cutscenes should appear without any black bars. Here is a demonstration of ultrawide implementation with REFramework.

Remove the REFramework

If you wish to remove the REFramework tool, you can simply delete the dinput8.dll file in the main installation folder.
