How to Fix the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Crashing on PC

Purge the crashing!

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, the strategy action game from CAPCOM, is now available on PC, consoles, and Game Pass. The PC version performs well with tons of options to tweak as well as support for upscaling technologies like DLSS and FSR 3. However, there are a few stability issues that can lead to random crashes. Here is how you can fix the crashing issues in Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.

Fixing the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Crashing Issues

To fix the constant crashing while playing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, avoid streaming the game on Discord, verify the game files on Steam or Xbox App, update your GPU drivers, and monitor VRAM usage to ensure you’re not going over your GPU’s limit.

Don’t Stream on Discord

For some reason, the game doesn’t like to be streamed on Discord. Multiple users have confirmed that the game stopped crashing when they stopped streaming on Discord. We’re unsure at this point what the connection is, but you can get around it by using Special K (Thanks Steam user Valejin).

Monitor VRAM Usage

If you have a GPU with low VRAM like 4 GB or even 8 GB, then it’s a good idea to keep an eye on VRAM usage with a tool like MSI Afterburner, or your GPU driver’s performance monitoring tool. If VRAM usage is touching or exceeding the limit of your GPU, then Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will crash.

The following settings have a noticeable impact on VRAM usage. So you might want to turn these down if you’re running into crashes due to lower VRAM.

  • Ray-tracing
  • Shadows
  • Resolution
  • Image Quality

Update GPU Drivers

If you haven’t updated your GPU drivers in a while, it’s a good idea to download the latest versions. While the Game Ready drivers from NVIDIA aren’t available for this specific title, it’s still a good idea to update to the recent ones.

You can download the latest drivers using the links below to manually download the latest ones.

Verify Game Files

If the game immediately crashes upon launch, there’s a chance that the game files aren’t in order. You can verify those in both the Steam client and the Xbox App.

Steam

  • Open Steam and navigate to your library
  • Here, right-click on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and select Properties
  • In the Installed Files tab, click on Verify integrity of game file

Xbox App

If you’re playing Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess through the Xbox App, you can verify the files there as well.

  • Open the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess page in your library, click on the three dots at the top right next to “SEE IN STORE” and select Manage.
  • Now, click on the FILES tab, and select VERIFY AND REPAIR

Generic Troubleshooting

Apart from that, you can try the following generic troubleshooting suggestions.

We hope that the developers address the Discord conflict in an update soon. Despite these crashes, the experience is fairly stable, and if you aren’t streaming on the Discord app, there’s a very good chance you won’t run into a crash at all. However, we still recommend you keep an eye on VRAM usage when deciding your settings.

You can also further improve the image quality of the game and reduce the dithering from its presentation. For more on Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, make sure to check out our dedicated section.
