With Final Fantasy 16’s recent launch on PlayStation 5, many have eagerly hopped on board to experience it for themselves. While many have enjoyed playing on the PS5, others have wondered if it is also available on older consoles. In particular, whether FFXVI will appear on PS4 is a question that often circulates, so I’m here to give you all the information you need about it. Is Final Fantasy XVI Releasing on PlayStation 4?

While there were initially plans to release Final Fantasy 16 on both PS4 and PS5, it ultimately only ended up on PlayStation 5. It is not currently available on PlayStation 4, and there are no immediate plans for it to arrive on the console anytime soon.

In an interview with the Final Fantasy 16 Leadership team, uploaded by Final Fantasy Union, they confirmed that there was initially a plan to release the game on PlayStation 4. However, they would have to spend an extra year or two in its development stages to bring it to a level they were proud of. Rather than delaying it further, they only launched it on PlayStation 5.

For now, we can enjoy FF16 on PS5, with plans for it to arrive on PC in the future.

That’s right; while there aren’t any plans for it to release on PS4, there is some information about an eventual PC port. Unfortunately, this will also take a while to launch, as SE’s main focus is fine-tuning the PS5 version and following their contracts with Sony, but there is hope for it expanding to different platforms in the future.
