Is Fashion Dreamer the Same as Style Savvy?

Although they seem similar at first glance, Fashion Dreamer is not the same game, or even in the same series, as Style Savvy.

The Differences Between Fashion Dreamer and Style Savvy, Explained

Fashion Dreamer and Style Savvy have a very similar focus: create outfits for characters, aiming to fill the specific requests each character makes. The key difference between the two is the reason why you create the outfits, which affects their gameplay loops.

In Style Savvy, your goal is to run a successful boutique. Because of this, you have to go out and buy clothing to use in your outfits to stock your store—and if the customer you dress up likes their outfit, they’ll purchase it, depleting your stock.

In Fashion Dreamer, your goal is to increase your follower count as you work to become a fashion influencer. Fashion Dreamer is set in EVE, an online virtual world, so you can use the clothes in your inventory infinitely when making outfits. You also obtain clothes simply by “liking” them, rather than paying for them with currency.

Unlike Style Savvy, which is a predominantly single player experience, Fashion Dreamer has an online mode where players can create outfits for each other and obtain clothes that other players have made by liking them. Players use the E-Points collected from these likes to create more clothes and to buy accessories for their Showroom, where they can show off specific items they’ve made. The connection between Fashion Dreamer’s online and solo play modes further focuses on growing your brand as a fashion influencer, which deviates from Style Savvy’s primary goal of running a boutique.

The Similarities Between Fashion Dreamer and Style Savvy

Although Fashion Dreamer isn’t directly related to the Style Savvy series, they have many similarities, causing confusion over whether the two are the same. Their similarities include:

  • Visual style

Style Savvy and Fashion Dreamer both have a very similar graphical appearance. It’s easy to assume they’re part of the same series just on looks alone.

  • Focus on outfit curation

The key gameplay element that both Fashion Dreamer and Style Savvy revolve around is creating full outfits for people. Characters request outfits with specific requirements that the player aims to fulfill, and meeting the requirements results in additional rewards.

  • Developer Syn Sophia

The Style Savvy series and Fashion Dreamer are both developed by Syn Sophia. Although Syn Sophia’s involvement makes the similarities of Style Savvy and Fashion Dreamer stand out even more, Fashion Dreamer is more of a spiritual successor to Style Savvy than an actual continuation of the series.
