What is Inscryption?

According to the description on the Special Reserve Games website, “Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie. Darker still are the secrets inscrybed upon the cards…”

If somehow that summary doesn’t intrigue you, then perhaps the fact that the game has been nominated for a multitude of awards (including “Best Independent Game” and “Best Sim/Strategy Game” at The Game Awards in 2021) might entice you to give Inscryption a try. Inscryption Physical Release Versions

For the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, there are two available versions of Inscryption, “Single” and “Reserve.” These editions have unique artwork, as well as different prices, which will be discussed more in-depth below.

Inscryption Single Edition

The Single Edition of Inscryption provides the physical game cartridge or disc, reversible jacket artwork, and an instruction booklet for $34.99.

Inscryption Special Reserve Edition

Similarly to the Single Edition, the Special Reserve version of Inscryption provides the physical game cartridge or disc, reversible jacket artwork, and an instruction booklet, but sweetens the pot with variant cover artwork, sequentially numbered game packaging, as well as a Special Reserve box and exclusive metallic-paper art card. The Special Reserve Edition has a price tag of $49.99.

When Will Inscryption Ship from Special Reserve Games?

According to Special Reserve Games, Inscryption has an estimated shipping date of “Q2 2023.” This means that gamers will obtain their physical editions sometime between March and June of 2023, so don’t expect your copy to arrive before Christmas if you preorder it on December 1.
