The latest battle royale game has arrived and comes in the form of Ubisoft’s Hyper Scape. Officially revealed earlier this month, the game puts a unique twist on the genre and allows players to fight for possession of a crown while also fighting to the death. For those that would like to try it out, the Hyper Scape open beta is now on PC. Here’s a quick guide on how to download it and get into the beta.

How to Download the Hyper Scape Open Beta

Initially, the game was only available via a PC technical test, but now players from all around the world can hop in and try it out. To download the Hyper Scape open beta on PC, simply head to the game’s website and select “Join Open Beta” at the top of the screen. This will prompt you to download Uplay onto your PC if you don’t have it already–if you do it’ll add the game to your account and you can jump right in.

When the game was initially announced, a technical test was available to those who were able to get a code via Twitch Drops and only allowed a limited number of players to jump into the game. Now, players won’t have to worry about watching a stream all day to try and get a code, as anyone and everyone can hop in. At the time of writing, it’s unclear how long the open beta period will last. However, the game will be launching on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 “later this summer,” so it’s possible it could be available until launch.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing there has been no mention of a Hyper Scape open beta for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Those who are hopping into the game on PC will be able to work their way through a free 30 tier Battle Pass with its progress carrying over to launch. So if you have a PC that can handle the game, and you’re interested in trying it out, hop in and give it a go!

Hyper Scape is set in the year 2054 and set in the city of Neo-Arcadia. The “Hyper Scape” is a virtual reality competition in which players from all around the world can compete for the prize, and those who win will be able to change their lives forever. Perhaps the biggest difference in Hyper Scape from games like Fortnite and Apex Legends is the crown that appears at the end of the game. If you’re not familiar with the process, towards the end of a match a crown will appear and any team that can hold onto it for 45 seconds will be crowned victorious, even if there are other teams left alive.
