What Do the Chairs Do in Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Answered

You will notice bench chairs scattered throughout the various bustling towns of Dragon’s Dogma. No matter the location, they are all the same variety of chairs, with the same-colored rug placed on them. You can find them easily as their locations are marked by a small chair-shaped symbol on the map.

Walking up to one of the bench chairs in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will bring up a prompt asking you if you want to sit down on the chair. Doing this will have the Arisen sit on the bench and peacefully people-watch. And let me tell you, with the amount of political drama and dramatic individuals in the game, it’s a people-watcher paradise.

The true benefit of using the chairs only becomes apparent once you have sat on one. Sitting on a chair will provide a secondary prompt called ‘Doze Off.’ Selecting this will push the game forward a singular period in the day. These periods are morning, noon, evening, and night. The option to choose between specific periods without waiting around is convenient as the game is very dynamic, and certain quests, interactions, and encounters only happen at certain times of the day. It’s just a nice little quality-of-life feature that keeps your experience flowing.

This will become useful for quests such as The Masked Correspondence, which requires you to engage in a particular event that is only held in the evening. But there are benefits to using them in other quests, too, such as The Stolen Throne.
