How to Upgrade Your House in Mirthwood

Make your Mirthwood house a home.

The farmhouse that you start off with in Mirthwood leaves much to be desired. The walls and roof are caving in, the floor is destroyed, and the place just has a sort of dilapidated feel about it. Thankfully, you don’t have to live in squalor for long. In this Mirthwood guide, I’ll show you how to upgrade your house so you can live in luxury (well, sort of).

Outside the house to the right of the door, you will notice a small wooden sign with a picture of a house on it. The sign is just to the left of your letterbox, but no, it is not a letterbox sign! If you interact with the sign, you will open up a small crafting menu that allows you to upgrade your house.

There are two house upgrades available:

  • Interior House Upgrade: 50x Wood, 50x Stone.
  • Exterior House Upgrade: 50x Wood, 50x Stone.

50x Wood and 50x Stone is a hefty request, especially because repairing your house is purely aesthetic, and there are a lot of other recipes on your farm that will call for the same resources. Other things are more urgent, like upgrading your tools or crafting a Furnace to make your own ingots. But repairing your farmhouse is certainly satisfying and makes your farm look way better.

How to Change the Look of the Farmhouse

Once you’ve fixed up the inside and the outside of the farmhouse, you can start thinking about tweaking its appearance to suit your tastes. You can change the floor and wall texture to a variety of different options by interacting with the Home Upgrade plaque.

You can find the plaque on the wall on the left as soon as you walk into your home.

On the second tab in the Home Upgrade plaque, you will find the Upgrades section. This is where you can unlock the second story of your house. You need 200x Hardwood and 50x Stone to unlock the Upper Floor of the farmhouse.

As long as you provide the required materials, the tarp will be taken off the mysterious staircase on the left side of your home, and you will gain access to a whole new level to decorate to your heart’s desire.
