How to Upgrade Stash Space in Escape From Tarkov

Behold, my stuff!

In a game about dropping into a hot zone, fighting for your life against Scavs and PMCs, and scouring every nook and cranny for loot, you’re obviously going to weigh yourself down and fill your stash space with useless junk. Here’s how to upgrade your stash space in Escape From Tarkov.

How to Increase Stash Space in Escape From Tarkov

To increase your stash size in Escape From Tarkov, you have a few options:

  • Purchase the Prepare for Escape edition, which includes a greatly increased stash size of 10×48. Previously, you could purchase the Edge of Darkness edition, which included all of the game’s upcoming expansions alongside the biggest stash size available. It’s no longer available, unfortunately.
  • By exploring the world and looting key items, you can visit your Hideout to expand your stash size, which will cost a few million roubles, along with a handful of seemingly junk items found in a raid. It’s expensive but does wonders for your stash space.
  • Escape From Tarkov now sells microtransactions, one of which is additional stash space. You can buy up to 28 additional lines of stash space starting from $3 and going up to $42 for the maximum amount.

As someone lucky enough (see: foolish enough) to purchase the Edge of Darkness edition for Escape From Tarkov, I’m blessed to have a large yet, as you can see from the screenshot, overwhelmingly messy stash space. I do recommend you grind a bit in-game to unlock additional stash space using the Hideout mechanics.

Alternative Ways to Increase Your Stash Size in Escape From Tarkov

If you don’t want to or can’t upgrade your stash in the Hideout, then another option to increase stash size in Escape From Tarkov is to spend a few million roubles to purchase weapon and item cases from the various traders in-game. These cases take up a few slots on their own but hold so much more. You can store ten or twelve weapons in a single case in the same space as one or two weapons. They’re a worthwhile investment!

To help you earn the roubles for cases and stash upgrades, I recommend unlocking M80 ammunition to help better survive raids!
