If you want to stand up against the PMCs playing for hours each day to unlock the best equipment, only to run through new players, you must learn how to unlock M80 ammo in Escape from Tarkov. It’s powerful, capable of penetrating armor, but bouncy.

How to Unlock M80 Ammo in Escape From Tarkov

You can unlock M80 ammo in Escape From Tarkov by working for Peacekeeper LL3 once you finish his task Revision at Lighthouse. Revision requires you to mark four BRDMs scattered throughout the map using the MS2000 Marker.

Once you finish marking all four armored vehicles, you’ll unlock the ability to purchase 7.62x51mm M80 at Peacekeeper Level 3. But in the meantime, you can buy the FN Five-SeveN MK2 5.7×28 Pistol at Peacekeeper Level 2.

Crafting With M80 Ammunition

As you progress through the game and unlock Workbench Level 3, you can begin crafting M61 ammunition in Escape From Tarkov using M80. For that, you need:

  • Leatherman Multitool
  • Gunpowder “Hawk” x2
  • Radiator Helix
  • 7.62x51mm M80 x80

With this combination, you’ll craft 80 rounds of 7.62x51mm M61!

Weapons That Use M80 Ammo in Escape From Tarkov

There is a rather large variety of weapons capable of using M80 ammunition, including:

  • RFB
  • VPO-101
  • DT MDR 7.62×51
  • SA-58
  • SCAR-H
  • HK G28
  • M1A
  • RSASS
  • SR-25
  • DVL-10
  • M700
  • Orsis T-5000
