Just like Glyphs, the Governing Stones and Tuning Stones need to be upgraded or leveled up in Diablo 4 Season 3. This guide will cover exactly how you can start progressing the power of your stones during the Season of the Construct.
How to Level Up Tuning Stones and Governing Stones in Diablo 4
To upgrade your Governing Stones and Tuning Stones, you need to collect duplicate stones by killing Vault Heralds or crafting Stone Caches. Any time you collect a new stone, it gets added to your character construction menu to be used on the Seneschal. Once you start finding duplicates, each one will add about 10 points to the upgraded level.
Every Magic Stone starts at level one and requires you to earn 20 points before reaching level two. Any time you find a duplicate stone, you earn 10 points toward the next level. For level three the total amount goes to 30 and so on. It’s easier to get duplicates for the Governing Stones but earning the one you want can also be more difficult compared to Tuning.
Upgrading Stones in Diablo 4 Season 3:
- Collect duplicate stones to level up Governing or Tuning Stones.
- Each stone provides 10 points toward the next level.
- Craft stone caches at a Jeweler for more duplicates.
When you want to upgrade your Governing Stones specifically, you should spend your time in Arcane Tremors around Sanctuary. Look for the Braziers and use three Elemental Cores to summon the Heralds of Malphas. When you defeat one of the Heralds, you are guaranteed to earn a Governing Stone, but the drop is randomized.
As for Tuning Stones, you just want to focus on crafting the Stone Caches at any Jeweler in Sanctuary. These only require iron and Shattered Stone to create, so the materials are cheap. In return, you get a small cache of magic stones and most of them will be Tuning Stones. Keep in mind, though, that there are over twice as many tuning versions.
If you haven’t been to an Arcane Tremor to farm yet, make sure you have the Elemental Cores you need.
