The Shattered Space expansion for Bethesda’s universe-exploring Starfield is here a year after the base game had launched. For those returning to the game, here is how to start the Starfield Shattered Space Expansion.
How to Get Starfield Shattered Space Expansion
The Shattered Space expansion is a paid add-on for Starfield, so players must purchase the DLC before they can access it. There are three ways to get the Shattered Space add-on:
- Purchase the expansion individually for $29.99.
- Purchase the Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade for $34.99.
- Already included with the Starfield Premium Edition.
The Starfield Premium Edition Upgrade comes with the Shattered Space expansion alongside 1,000 Creation Credits, a skin pack for gear, digital artbook, and original soundtrack. It is meant for Standard Edition or Xbox Game Pass players, but you can save five dollars by simply getting the expansion itself.
How to Access Starfield Shattered Space Expansion
Starfield will have access to the Shattered Space expansion after completing One Small Step, the game’s first mission. However, Bethesda has said that players should be around level 35 before taking on the new add-on.
Players will then receive a distress call when grav-jumping for the first time after completing One Small Step. It will not occur if the player is already in a mission or encounter.
The call will lead players to a large star station called The Oracle. Following the path will bring players into the Shattered Space expansion. During the new mission, players will be able to return to the base game at any time.
The entirety of the add-on takes place on the planet of Va’ruun’kai, located in the Kavnyk star system. Players will land at the capital city of Dazra to discover what has happened with the House Va’ruun government.
