Make each second count.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a treat for the eyes on PC and a technically impressive title that looks and plays well if you have the hardware for it. It comes jam-packed with several settings to adjust in each department, but you still have to sit through the opening screens.

Fret not, however, because you can skip through those annoying videos, save precious seconds, and head straight to the Assassin’s Creed Shadows main menu.

Skip the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Intro Videos

At the first boot, you’ll see a few videos like the Intel ad, the AC franchise intro and a few health warnings. Most of these don’t appear on subsequent boots, but you’ll still see the Ubisoft logo and the health warnings. These can’t be skipped, so we’ll just delete the video files.

  • Head over to the following location where Assassin’s Creed Shadows is installed:
\Assassin's Creed Shadows\videos
  • In the videos folder, delete the “UbisoftLogo.webm” file, since this is the one that plays on every boot.
  • Next, open the language folder corresponding to your text language, so “en” in my case. Delete all the files here, which are:
Epilepsy.webm
warning_disclaimer.webm
WarningSaving.webm
  • You can also rename the files, but I don’t really see the point of doing that. It’s completely safe, and it will not hinder your progress or access to the game in any way.

Once you have deleted the files, launch Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it will skip through the opening videos. This saves a good 15-20 seconds that you don’t have to sit through anymore, and I honestly think it should be something players can skip through with a button press, anyway. The videos will likely be restored after an update or if you decide to verify the game files.

This isn’t a big issue at all, mind you, but I just want to get to the main menu as soon as possible. Console users sadly don’t have a choice here, and they’ll have to sit through this every single time. Probably a good time to grab a snack as it slowly loads through the clearly skippable videos. Intros aside, here is how you can use the game’s photo mode, and earn the Twitch drops while you still have the time!
