How to Set Map Markers (Waypoints) in LEGO Fortnite

Making the map a bit more interactive

It’s easy to lose yourself in a huge open-world map like the one we have in LEGO Fortnite, which makes tasks like retrieving your backpack much more arduous than they should. But adding a few Waypoints here and there makes finding yourself easier, and here’s how you do it.

Map Markers can be obtained from the Craft menu by spending two Granite, so they’re quite easy to get. Once you get one in your hands, place it in an important place that you will often visit, such as your village or somewhere filled with important resources such as a cavern entrance, a different biome, or such.

You can pick which icon and color to represent that specific Waypoint. The default icon is a house, which is perfect for marking your village. The food icons are good to mark where you can easily find some rare respawnable ingredients like Snow Berries, and general resources could be marked with rocks, plants, or even a simple flag icon.

With your favorite places finally marked, open your map anytime you feel a bit lost to easily locate yourself. Zoom out as much as needed until you can see the icons you’re looking for, so making your way back will be easier than ever.

How Many Map Markers Can You Set in LEGO Fortnite?

There’s no limit to how many Map Markers you can put on your map, but try not to fill it with those or you might end up missing their whole point. They’re made to make it easier for you to locate yourself amidst the whole map, but there’s no point in doing so if there are so many icons you can’t even remember which one is which.

So use them diligently as you make your way around the game’s map. You can remove them and get your Granites back anytime you want, so mistakes are quite easy to fix. My advice is to use them for marking those really important resources such as Flexwood, but you’re free to use them as you want as long as you don’t get lost, of course.
