How to Resurrect and Create Zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2
You don't stop working 'til you're dead. Oh wait.
Whether you want a platoon of undead soldiers or simply want someone else to do all the hard labor for a change, there are plenty of zombies at your disposal in Graveyard Keeper 2.
These zombie assistants aid you in battle and with the more tedious tasks. So, here’s how to create zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2.
How to Make Zombies in Graveyard Keeper 2

So long as you stick to the main questline, you will get Zombie Assistants for free. This is only the beginning, though. As you progress through the story, you will eventually be prompted to break down the blockage on the south side of the Morgue. This is a hidden room, home to the Resurrection Lab. Here you can create your very own Zombie Assistants.

But to do so, you need a body. This can be fresh or old, the latter requiring an Exhumation Certificate, purchased from Januarius at the Village tavern. The body we’re hoping for is different to what you’d normally be on the lookout for. What we want is a corpse with as many Red Skulls as possible. White Skulls are vital to improve your Graveyard Level, but when it comes to resurrection, Red Skulls increase the number of Perks available for your Zombie Assistant. It doesn’t matter how many White Skulls they have, so long as there are more Red ones.

Fat, Flesh, and Blood aren’t always necessary and should be extracted to make helpful resources such as Ink and Melted Fat most of the time, but be sure to check its White and Red Skull content before removal. You cannot replace these once they are taken out.
Your corpse must have a full body of vital organs for the zombie to be brought to life. These include: Brain, Heart, Guts, Skull, Bones, and Skin. They cannot be resurrected if they’re missing a single organ. You can insert organs harvested from other bodies, so long as the goal is to increase your Red Skull count. Rotten organs from leaving bodies outside increase the number of present Red Skulls.

Once done, you need to put the body on the Resurrection Table inside the Lab. Resurrection cannot begin until the time of day turns to the green symbol on the upper-left dial and shows the Abandoned Tower struck by lightning. Resurrection is only possible when there’s a storm. Rain is always guaranteed, but lightning isn’t. If there’s no storm, you can craft a Prayer for Storms (though this requires Theology Mastery Level 8 to use).
When everything is ready, place Reanimation Liquid and a Zombie Collar (determines how many Perks a zombie can have) in the slots on the Resurrection Table, go over to the desk at the center of the Lab, use Faith, and select Resurrect. Eureka! Your Zombie is born.
How to Get Zombies to Work in Graveyard Keeper

If you’ve resurrected a zombie with a Red Skull count you’re not satisfied with, you can move them into the Morgue and replace body parts on the Autopsy Table with organs you previously harvested.
To get your new recruit to work, you need to give them equipment. You can use either a Zombie Supplier Station or place them on any workbench to inspect their stats. This menu shows what the zombie is wearing and which Perks he has. Collars are replaceable on the Autopsy Table, but the slot we’re most interested in is the zombie’s hand. His equipment determines which industry he can work in: Anatomy, Farming, Metallurgy, Building, or Theology.

Say you want your crops tended to, give the zombie an Iron Shovel. If you need an abundance of Wooden Planks, put an Iron Axe in his hand. And so on. The zombie can only be good at one thing at a time, based solely on where you station him. His ability (what he can craft) is determined by the Mastery Level linked to his equipment. If you want to move him around, simply return him to the nearest Supplier Station and adjust his equipment.
When it comes to combat, zombies can only fight with Pikes and Bows, and require Armor. Their Collar exclusively looks at their Perk number. Meanwhile, their remaining equipment is related to Battles (for your undead platoon at the Barracks).

The more work a zombie does in their designated field, the more Tech Points they’ll acquire. Just like your own skill tree, the zombie can unlock Perks. This will boost its efficiency as you grind more levels for better Zombie Collars, potions, and valuable organs to switch its White Skulls to Red.
Each area (i.e., Garden, Home, Inquisition Base, Alchemy Lab) has a designated zombie workstation you will need to unlock via the Tech Tree. Only then can you place the zombie to work. Leaving Zombie Supplier Stations up and running with zombies on them gets them working together, as one can fetch resources while the other builds.

To get the zombies to actually do something, simply place an order in the work queue, select Put when looking at the station, and watch your workers crack on. The Astrologer introduces a new mechanic whereby having too many zombies around will give you a debuff. You should increase the number of zombies you can have per week via the PR Machine next to the Astrologer’s house in the Port Area.
