Graveyard Keeper 2 Dust in the Kitchen guide: How to Make Dream Dust and Summon a Fairy

The very first thing you see in Graveyard Keeper 2 is a Fairy (of all things). Letting you know about the previous Keeper in a cryptic way and how you’re vital to ridding the town of zombies and saving the world. So, there’s more to this Fairy than meets the eye.

There’s nothing particularly supernatural about Graveyard Keeper 2, aside from the dead coming back to life and the strange Fairy who seems to blame you for everything that happened here. In this world where this version of the Keeper is more good than bad, it’s up to you to figure out how to defeat your evil self. But the only way to do this is by following the overarching main quest of GK2, and that’s centered around the Fairy.

So, here’s how to complete the Dust in the Kitchen Quest in Graveyard Keeper 2.

How to Make Dream Dust in Graveyard Keeper 2

Dream Dust is one of those quest items with no explanation. The Plague Doctor tells you it’s all you need to summon the Fairy, yet doesn’t provide a recipe for how to make it. This is your introduction to the Alchemy Lab, where any recipes you find are saved on the Folio at the back. The problem is, it’s empty, and there’s no clue as to where you’re supposed to start.

Weirdly enough, knowing absolutely nothing sent me to investigate resources I was most curious about. I’m not sure what this says about me, but the first things I went to study were Water and Blood. GK2 gives you a free Science Kit I to break down into Science at the Study Table. You can use this to study Water and Blood. Water has an infinite source at the Well inside the Inquisition Base. Meanwhile, Blood is extracted from bodies on the Autopsy Table. You can extract Blood, Flesh, and Fat for free, but any organs harvested here require at least the Butcher’s Kit, crafted on the Jewelry Table beneath your house.

Studying Water and Blood gives you the Green and Blue Runes you need to create Dream Dust. Pairing them together at the Laboratory I with the free flasks the game provides crafts the first component to summon the Fairy. As the recipe is one Green Rune and one Blue Rune, you can study Ash and mix in Laboratory I to achieve the same result.

How to Summon the Fairy

But Dream Dust isn’t all you need. There are steps to the Plague Doctor’s madness, and you’ve no choice but to join in on this escapade. It is a good introduction to how Graveyard Keeper 2 plays, as the majority of quests follow this formula of fetching items (either by trading or crafting) as per an NPC’s request.

Just like everything else in Graveyard Keeper 2, the Fairy has a strict set of ingredients to summon her. Here’s the recipe:

You can make Dream Dust at the Alchemy Lab, get Comet’s Tail from the Astrologer when you unlock the Town after coming out of your first Battle victorious, and make Tooth at a Formulation Bench built inside the Writing Basement. To get this, use the Autopsy Table to extract a Skull from any body delivered by Donkey. You can unlock the Formulation Bench inside Church Lighting I on Theology. Do this when the Nun wants you to fix up the Church.

Dust in the Kitchen Quest Step-by-Step

1. Meet Januarius, owner of the Village tavern, and speak to Jully, the Village head.
2. Help the Village (Herm, Jack, and the Twins) to please Jully.
3. Unlock the Writing Basement beneath the Keeper’s house. Go right and clear the northern blockage to find the Plague Doctor.
4. Make the Plague Doctor Dream Dust to get your first set of Zombie Assistants.
5. Start your first Battle by paying the squad inside the Crossroads Barracks and win it to reopen the Town.
6. Buy Comet’s Tail from the Astrologer in the Port Area (inside the house shaped like a boot).
7. Summon the Fairy at the Kitchen Table (inside your house). You need Farming Mastery Level 3 to do this.
