To repair items like tools, weapons, and armor in Hytale, you need to make and use a Repair Kit. It’s an item you must craft on your own, so you do still need to spend some materials to initiate the process, but the kit is a lot cheaper to make than starting from scratch on most items.

It’s possible that the Repair Kit might be an item you can find as chest loot, too, but we haven’t found it anywhere around the world yet, despite exploring extensively. If we do end up finding any other ways to earn it, we’ll add them here, but for now, you’ll need to get crafting if you want to get your hands on one.

How to Craft a Repair Kit in Hytale

You can make a Repair Kit at a classic Workbench using two Linen Scraps, one Iron Ingot, and one Light Leather. There’s quite a bit you need to get done to actually craft this item, so here’s a full breakdown of how to get it done.

  • Craft a regular Workbench. This is the most basic type of station you can make, and it’s the only one you need to make a Repair Kit. A Workbench can be made using four Tree Trunks and three Stones.
  • Gather the materials you need. Linen Scraps drop from most humanoid foes you’ll encounter, like Skeletons and Goblins. Iron Ingots can be smelted in a Furnace by finding Iron Ore, and Light Leather can be made from Light Hide, which drops from small animals like Boars, Rabbits, and Chickens.
  • Craft a Repair Kit. Interact with the Workbench to get started, then switch over to the Tools tab, which is the second one over. Locate the Repair Kit recipe, which is the very first one, and hit the craft option to make it.

To use a Repair Kit, switch over to it in your invetnory then click the right mouse button. Doing so will bring up a list of all items you have that the kit can be used on, as well as the durability status of each one. If an item is at 100 percent, you can’t repair it, as it doesn’t need to be fixed, but all other levels can be raised using the kit.
