Enshrouded 1.0 update added a new endgame biome called Cinder’s Cradle, filled with new enemies, resources, and the game’s final boss. If you want to complete Enshrouded, you are going to have to make a trip to Cinder’s Cradle. But getting there isn’t easy.

You need a Level 10 Flame Altar to be able to handle the Shroud in Cinder’s Cradle. And getting the materials to upgrade the Flame Altar is a long grind.

So, here is how to reach Enshrouded’s new endgame biome, Cinder’s Cradle.

How to Unlock Cinder’s Cradle in Enshrouded 1.0

To reach Cinder’s Cradle, you need to complete the Crown of Sorrow Quest, which will give you an item you need to upgrade your Flame to Level 10. You can’t enter Cinder’s Cradle without a Level 10 Flame Altar. Once you have done that, you can travel to the Ancient Gate north of Veilwater Basin and enter the new endgame region.

Here’s a quick checklist to keep track.

  1. Complete the Crown of Sorrow quest.
  2. Strengthen your Flame to Level 10.
  3. Travel to the Ancient Gate north of Veilwater Basin.
  4. Pass through the gate to enter Cinder’s Cradle.

Complete the Crown of Sorrow Quest

Before heading toward Cinder’s Cradle, you’ll need to complete the Crown of Sorrow quest. This requires you to find the Broken Guard of the North Crown inside the Cromville Throne Room.

The quest will lead you to Cromville. From there, you just need to find your way to the throne room. You will find the Crown lying on the throne. Grab it and complete the quest.

Tip: Inside the Cromville Throne Room, you will find the Guard of the North Sword, which is an endgame legendary sword.

Strengthen Your Flame to Level 10

Your next objective is to strengthen your Flame to Level 10. You can do this at a Flame Altar, provided you’ve gathered the resources required for the upgrade. Here are all the resources you need for the Level 10 upgrade and how to get them.

Items How To Get Them
Spark You can get Sparks from Flame Shrines and Flame Sanctums.
Broken Guard of the North Crown Find it in the Cromville Throne Room in Veilwater Basin.
Gleam Root Dust Harvest glowing blue Gleam Root underwater in Veilwater Basin at night. Process each plant into one dust at a Mill.
Piscine Ivory Dust Process Fish Teeth or Fish Bones at the Mill.
Drak Blood Obtain it from Drak enemies.
Shroud Sludge At the Alchemist, craft it using Shroud Slime, Shroud Gelatin, and Pink Mushroom Meat. You need 50 of each for 10 Shroud Sludge
Daylily Gather orange Daylily flowers in Veilwater Basin. Each plant yields around two or three flowers. You can also grow more using a Seedbed.

Tip: Start processing the Gleam Root and fish materials at your Mill while you gather the other ingredients. Both dust recipes take time to craft, so you can make progress on them while completing the Crown of Sorrow quest.

Find the Ancient Gate

Once you’ve completed the Crown of Sorrow quest and reached Flame Level 10, head north of Veilwater Basin to find the Ancient Gate. It’s located between Cromville Hot Spring and Lake Luma. But you don’t need to worry about remembering the location because, as soon as you level up your Flame Altar, the Land of the Sky Islands Quest will guide you to Cinder’s Cradle.

If you’ve already activated a Flame Altar near the entrance, you can fast-travel there to save time. Otherwise, the Ancient Spire in Veilwater Basin is a useful starting point. From there, travel north toward the gate.

When you reach the Ancient Gate, pass through it to enter Cinder’s Cradle.

How to Reach the Floating Islands in Cinder’s Cradle

Entering Cinder’s Cradle doesn’t immediately give you access to all its floating islands. You will still need to complete The Lands Of The Sky Island Quest, where your goal is to rescue Loraine Crim. Here is how the Lands of the Sky Island Quest goes:

  • Reach Flame Level 10: Requirement for the Quest to start.
  • Travel to Veilwater Basin: Follow the main road through the Shroud until you reach the Ancient Gate.
  • Glider Past the Gate: Climb the hardened mycelium pillars on the left of the gate and use your glider to soar over the Shroud.
  • Ascend the Vertical Path: Take the lifts, launch platforms, and grapple points upward, then use the two large elevators to reach the sky roads.
  • Follow the Stone Highway: Stay on the main, wide stone road and dodge the shooting lightning orbs.
  • Rescue Loraine Crim: Defeat the Ancients at the top of the grand staircase, open the gates, and awaken the researcher to finish the quest.

When you rescue Loraine Crim, she will give you the Gate to the Stars quest where you will have to activate six dungeon beacons to power a floating-island teleporter, which, as the name suggests, teleports you to the floating island.

From there, continue exploring the islands and following the main quest to progress through the region’s endgame content.

Tips Before Entering Cinder’s Cradle

Cinder’s Cradle is an endgame region, so make sure you’re properly equipped before heading through the Ancient Gate. Bring upgraded weapons and armor, stock up on healing supplies, and prepare food that complements your build.

It’s also worth activating any convenient fast-travel points you find along the way. The region is large, and having nearby locations to return to will make exploration much easier.

Reaching Cinder’s Cradle is only the start of the endgame content; there is a lot more to do before you reach the final boss and complete Enshrouded’s story.
