How to Play in the Fortnite Celebration Cup

The Celebration Cup has two distinct stages. The first kicked off on February 15, which allowed players to get cosmetics like the “Take Cover” spray, the “wild Accent” pickaxe, and the “Tango” outfit – we have a guide on getting this outfit if you’re curious. The second kicked off yesterday. The tournament will run for three hours each day until its conclusion, and you’ll have a chance at the cash prize pool of $1,000,000 if you fancy yourself competitive enough.

To actually play in the Fortnite Celebration Cup, you have to first ensure that you’re running the PS4 version of the game. Once that initial hurdle is out of the way, you have to head to the Compete tab in the game to find the option to queue for the tournament. You won’t be able to access it any other way.

The Fortnite Celebration Cup matches will award you points for your performance, with Victory Royales giving you the most points (a no-brainer) and other close finishes giving you less points. As mentioned, each region has three-hour timeslots to participate in this event and these will vary per timezone. By our estimation, it looks like these are the times you’re going to want to adhere to if you’re from the regions below:

  • Asia: 5 to 8 pm
  • Brazil: 6 to 9 pm
  • Europe: 5 to 8 pm
  • NA East: 7 to 10 pm
  • NA West: 5 to 8 pm
  • Oceania: 4 to 7 pm

It looks like the top prizewinner from a region will have the chance to walk away with $2,500 in cash money (not V-bucks), so that’s a pretty decent incentive if you were on the fence about getting your kit out and your shoot on for this tournament. Now that you know how to play in the Fortnite Celebration Cup, why not go hard instead of going home to see if you can swoop up some neat rewards?
