How to Place Your House in Palia (Home, Sweet Home)

The mayor may have shown up at your place with the foundation of a house in his back pocket, but the real question is, how do you place it? If you check the quest menu, you’ll only find the advice to open the “Advance House Placement” menu.

Fortunately, once you understand Palia’s menu, placing your house will be a breeze. But before you try to set up your house, be sure to clear the area you’re going to set it in. The Harvest House, which is the first house you’ll receive, takes up 11 x 11 squares. That means you’ll have to clear up a significant amount of your plot!

If you’ve placed your tent but can’t move it, be sure to move the furniture inside the tent. You can do this by pressing ctrl to manually move the furniture or by pressing ‘H’ and then right-clicking on the furniture to completely remove it and have it added to your inventory.

Once the area is clear, press ‘H’ while you’re in your plot. This will open a top-down perspective of your farmland. You can then press the backpack icon on the left of your screen. Doing so will open up your items’ menu. From this menu, you can select whatever item you’d like to place.

In this menu, there’s also a house icon, where you can select the gifted Harvest House. Place the house on your plot. If the plots are green, then the house can be placed there.

When the house has been successfully laid down, you’ll find that you’re not quite done. You’ll still need 100 Sapwood Planks and 35 Stone Bricks. This will jumpstart your next quests, Plank by Plank and Brick by Brick, which will require you to get a Basic Sawmill from Ashura’s Skill store in town and a Stone Smelter from Hodari who wanders from town to the mine.

Once you have a house, you’ll find a place to take back your dates, since there are so many romanceable options. Or maybe you just want to focus on the main quest and learn the answer to the battery’s riddle.
