How to Manually Reload in Armored Core 6 (AC6)

You're not alone

There are plenty of weapons in Armored Core 6 that require reloads, and most of the time, they will reload themselves automatically when the ammo runs out. However, those animations can take way too long at the worst times in a fight, and luckily there is a way to manually reload those when you want.

How to Manually Reload Weapons in AC6

To manually reload in Armored Core 6, you need to press Triangle/Y and R2/RT at the same time. The Shift Control button is what allows you to pick a specific weapon for reloading. On PlayStation and Xbox, that control is “Triangle/Y” by default. For keyboard and mouse players on PC, that same control is the “R” key. That only opens up the menu for reloads, though.

When you are holding the Shift Control option for your AC, you can then select the weapon you want to reload. So, depending on the core you’ve been building up in Armored Core 6, you could have weapons on your shoulders or your left hand. In that case, press the same button you would use to shoot the weapon while holding the Shift Control.

Of course, you don’t need to use the manual reload in AC6, and when a weapon runs out of ammo, your character will automatically reload for you. After all, the combat in this game is chaotic, and it’s hard to keep track of ammo on four guns at all times. But in between fights, manual reloads can save you another long animation headache. It’s all about preparation.

I had no idea manual reloads even existed in Armored Core 6 until I jumped into training early on. There are parts you can earn from the Training Mode as well, so make sure to jump in as well.
