There are a few ways to make Oil in Infinite Craft. This recipe combination guide goes over the different options.
Infinite Craft: How to Make Oil
Oil in Infinite Craft can be made by combining Fossil with either Water or Sand.
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result
Option 1 | Fossil | Water | Oil |
Option 2 | Fossil | Sand | Oil |
Water is clearly the easier component to use, since it’s one of the game’s four starting elements. But Sand is easy enough to make that it’s worth getting if you don’t have it already. Follow the guides below to make each component.
How to Make Fossil in Infinite Craft
Whether you want to use Water or Sand, you’ll need Fossil to make Oil. Start by making a Plant by combining Water and Earth.
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result |
Water | Earth | Plant |
Set the Plant aside while you make a Stone by using Earth, Fire, and Water by following the steps below:
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result
Step 1 | Earth | Fire | Lava |
Step 2 | Lava | Water | Stone |
Finally, combine the Stone and your Plant from before to make a Fossil.
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result |
Stone | Plant | Fossil |
From here, you can combine your Fossil with Water right away to make Oil, or follow the steps below to round out your crafting components with Sand.
How to Make Sand in Infinite Craft
The first step to making Sand in Infinite Craft is to make Dust by combining Earth and Wind.
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result |
Earth | Wind | Dust |
Next, combine two Dust together to make Sand.
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result |
Dust | Dust | Sand |
You can now make Oil by combining either Sand or Water with your Fossil from before.
Basic Infinite Craft Recipes Using Oil
Now that you have Oil in Infinite Craft, you can use it to make all sorts of related (and some unrelated) things. The following table goes over some simple Infinite Craft recipes that make use of Oil and the components you got along the way:
Component 1 | Component 2 | Result |
Oil | Oil | Oil Drum |
Oil | Water | Emulsion |
Oil | Fire | Fuel |
Oil | Wind | Windmill |
Oil | Earth | Fuel |
Oil | Lava | Volcano |
Oil | Stone | Statue |
Oil | Dust | Dirt |
Oil | Sand | Sandwich |
I like to think the Sandwich made above uses olive oil instead of fuel oil, although that doesn’t leave me feeling any better about the sand that goes into making it. Try injecting some Life or Color into your next crafting session to get your mind off it.
