How to Make Easy Money in Hogwarts Legacy

Fortunately, Hogwarts Legacy provides tons of ways for you to make money. While the best money makers require you to progress through part of the main story, you can still stockpile some precious Galleons early on.

With that said, let’s get into some of the best and easiest ways to make money!

Selling Old Equipment

Selling Old Gear in Hogwarts Legacy

Upgrading, replacing and selling equipment is your bread and butter in Hogwarts Legacy. From the moment you start the game to the time you complete the story, you’ll find yourself visiting Hogsmeade and travelling vendors to sell your old gear. While you won’t get much for just one or two items, the money adds up over time as you sell hundreds or thousands of old clothes and accessories.

Completing Merlin Trials also allows you to gain more inventory slots to carry more at a time before stopping at a shop. Starting at 20 slots, you can get up to 40 total if you finish all 95 trials!

Opening Eye Chests

Near the beginning of the main story, you’ll explore the Hogwarts library and unlock the Disillusionment Charm. While this spell is already helpful for stealth combat, another purpose is to open Eyeball chests!

If you find one of these treasure chests, get out of its sight and go invisible before sneaking up on it. You’ll open it, rewarding you with 500 Galleons. There are plenty of these scattered around the map, and although you won’t see them on your minimap, you can use Revelio to help you find them!

It’s also worth opening smaller treasure chests when you encounter them. Although they don’t net as much gold, it’ll add up over time!

Rescuing and Selling Magical Beasts

Rescuing and selling beasts is the best money-making method in Hogwarts Legacy. While you’ll have to get far enough into the story to unlock the Room of Requirement and Nab Sack, it’s worth reaching this point to gain access to beast capturing. By visiting magical beast dens, catching them and selling them at Brood and Peck, you can make hundreds of gold every trip.

Hogwarts Beast Selling for Money

To make the process even faster, go for Puffskein dens. Each one usually spawns anywhere from 3-6 Puffskeins, allowing you to fill your inventory in a short time. You can find these dens south of the Forbidden Forest, near Hogsmeade and east of Aranshire, just to name a few examples.

Other Quick Methods

While those are the main ways to make money easily in Hogwarts Legacy, you can use a few others. One example is finishing quests. In particular, you’ll occasionally find side quests that give you two dialogue options: accept the mission’s original reward or request a bonus. If you choose the bonus, you’ll get some extra money instantly. This only happens during some quests, though, so keep an eye out as you chat with the locals.

Another method is through completing treasure vaults. Each vault houses chests with money and gear inside, which you can use to replace your current equipment or sell for some extra pocket change. Just be careful since these vaults typically require specific spells you may not have unlocked yet!

Good luck making some money!
