When you’re piecing together your perfect house in Minecraft, ensuring you have all of the details done and dusted can help turn your Minecraft house into a Minecraft home. Furnishings, chest placement, small decorative details and things of the sort all come together to make a great place to live. With all that, you’ll likely want a chimney of sorts thanks to the coziness it provides. Thankfully, we’re here to give designs (or at least inspire). Here’s how to make a chimney in Minecraft.
The Best Chimney Designs in Minecraft
For this article, we’ve brought together five different chimney designs that you can find in the image above. Which chimney you choose will depend entirely on the size, shape, and block choice of your build. If you aren’t a fan of actual smoke stacks on your chimney, then you’ll want either the furthest left or furthest right design. The furthest left is the cheapest, being a tall 1×2 tower with a Cobblestone Fence and two Cobblestone Slabs on the top. The furthest right uses a 2×2 design, with fences of your choice and stairs topping things off.

If you’re looking for a more accurate design with a Campfire though, you’ll want one of the three middle designs. The very center design is the smallest, using Trapdoors surrounding a one-block space with a Campfire hidden inside. The middle left design is the biggest of the bunch, being a plus shape of blocks with the center hollowed out to make space for the Campfire. The middle right is my personal favorite, sporting a 1×2 block tower topped off with Trapdoors surrounding a 1×2 block space. Slap two Campfires within it, and it’s a nice cozy chimney.
How Can I Improve My Minecraft Chimney?
If you want to improve your design or one of the designs shown, there are a few things that could be done. The first is to shake up the block variety a bit. What we made above was basic, but if you put together an assortment of blocks like Stone, Andesite, Mossy Cobble, and things of the sort, it’ll give that chimney far more personality. Another great way to improve it would be to set up a piston with a block over any Campfires you have, hooking it all up to a Daylight Sensor. If done right, you could have a chimney smoke stack that spews smoke only at night. Minor, but always a nice touch.
