Runescape Wyrms: How to Kill Them

Running into Wyrms in OSRS can be overwhelming. These massive creatures are no easy accomplishment when battling, so preparing beforehand is crucial. Wyrms utilize both melee and magic but can be limited to only their magic attacks if you keep a distance from them. When you first find a Wyrm, you will notice they slither on the ground like a snake, but the second you attack, they will rise up into the air. This makes them all the much more intimidating.

When first wanting to fight a Wyrm, make sure you are wearing Boots of Stone, Granite Boots or Boots of Brimstone. The floors of the dungeons they are located in are hot and will cause you to take additional damage without one of these sets of boots equipped.

Tip:

Poison will not work on Wyrms in Old School RuneScape.

Utilizing some sort of Ranged attack style, such as a bow or magic extremely useful. It is essential to have some sort of magic protection when facing one of these creatures, helping you withstand some of their blows. Dragonbane weapons deal additional damage when used against one of these dragons.

Killing one of these monsters can potentially drop you a Dragon sword or a Dragon harpoon, the only creature to do so when defeated.
