How to Kill Terrormorphs in Starfield

The only good bug is a dead bug!

Throughout your travels around the Settled Systems, you’ll hear whispers of fearsome aliens capable of wiping out an entire human colony in a single night. Occasionally, you may even stumble upon one such creature. If you enlist with the UC Vanguard, you definitely will. These Terrormorphs, as they’re called, prove challenging to defeat. They move quickly, strike hard, and can control other creatures to do their bidding through pheromones. Here is how to kill Terrormorphs in Starfield.

How to Beat the Terrormorph in Starfield

To kill Terrormorphs in Starfield, you need more than the right mindset. You need weapons. These foes have a significant health pool, move quickly, and hit for quite a bit of damage. Even worse is they level up alongside you, making them challenging no matter how far into the game you progress.

Personally, I have found energy weapons to be the most effective tool against Terrormorphs in my playthroughs. But they’re not the only option. Here are a few tips to beat Terrormorphs in your game:

  • Use your boost pack to reach the high ground, then unleash upon the Terrormorph from above. This tactic is more effective if you have points in Boost Assault Training, too.
  • Allow a companion with a high combat skill, such as Andreja, to tank the Terrormorph while you line up flanking shots.
  • Use explosives! The game’s various grenade launchers, frag grenades, and mines are highly effective at dealing with Terrormorphs. I cleared most of Londinion using Shattered Shock once I nabbed it from above in the crate.

Terrormorph Loot

When you do manage to kill a Terrormorph in Starfield, expect resources to drop, such as:

  • Alien Genetic Material
  • Amino Acids
  • Hallucinogen
  • Aromatic
  • Quark-Degenerative Tissues
  • Fiber
  • Nutrient
  • Metabolic Agent
  • Sealant
  • Toxin

Of course, you won’t score a high-end weapon from an alien, but the late-game resources will help you research and craft better equipment.

Dealing with Terrormorphs for the UC Vanguard is only one step in the equation; you must also complete quests like Eyewitness, so make sure to check out our guide!
