How to Get to the Undercroft in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy has successfully brought the mystery of the game’s namesake School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to life. In the new RPG, the corridors of Hogwarts are replete secret passages, hidden treasures, and plenty of mysterious locations for gamers to discover. One interesting location in Hogwarts Legacy is a place called the Undercroft, a secluded hideout to practice dark magic away from the prying eyes of nosy professors. Here is everything you need to know about exactly where to find and how to get back to the Undercroft in Hogwarts Legacy.

Where is the Undercroft in Hogwarts Legacy?

The Undercroft is first encountered during the story quest “In the Shadow of the Undercroft,” the same mission where your created witch or wizard will also learn the explosive spell, Confringo. You can’t access the Undercroft until this story quest has been completed.

How to Return to the Undercroft in Hogwarts Legacy

Unlike some of the other secret rooms, such as the Room of Requirement, the Undercroft does not have a Floo Flame, which can make returning to it somewhat challenging due to the sheer size and scope of Hogwarts Castle. The easiest way to retrace your steps back to the Undercroft is to travel to the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom’s Floo Flame, which is very close to the secret hideout.

From the Defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom Floo Powder Flame, head down the stairs and hook a quick right into an alcove tucked under the stairs.

In the alcove, you will find a window and an ornate grandfather clock, which marks the secret passage to the Undercroft. By interacting with the clock, you will be treated to a cutscene of your protagonist aligning the clock’s many hands and dials with their magic, and entering into the dark passageway. Once in the Undercroft you can proceed to rendezvous with your fellow troublemaker, Sebastian Sallow of Slytherin, or just take some time to explore the hidden location.
