How to Get the Spectral Charge Mount in Diablo 4

And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and Hell followed with him.

As you’ve ridden around Sanctuary, you’ve likely seen other players astride a ghastly steed called the Spectral Charge. And as of right now, it’s one of the new mounts that can be reliably farmed. Here’s how to get the Spectral Charge ghost horse in Diablo 4.

How to Get the Spectral Charge Mount in Diablo 4

The horses that you can find in Sanctuary are incredibly varied. There are your standard mares, purchasable for a few million gold in any stable, then rarer mounts like zebras and even moose. But the most popular and coveted steed in Sanctuary must be the Spectral Charge.

This unique mount is a skeleton with ectoplasmic green flesh. You can even see its bones through its skin! And when it runs, it leaves a wispy green trail. What more could you ask for? And, fortunately, it’s easy to farm. You can get the Spectral Charge by completing Gathering Legion Events.

Gathering Legion Events are unique world events that require players to gather in specified areas around the world. Once there, you’ll defeat waves of enemies before finally encountering the Overlord. Once the Overlord is beaten, players will get chests that have a chance to contain the Spectral Charge, called the Ghostly Rein, in their inventory. Getting the ghost horse is random, so keep farming those events.

Important things to note regarding Gathering Legion Events:

  • Once a Legion Event timer begins, you’ll have four minutes to get to the event. It will despawn if you’re too late.
  • You’ll know a Legion Event has begun because a circle icon with an orange bar over it will appear on your map.
  • One Legion Event location is locked behind the Kor Dragan Stronghold. Complete this Stronghold to gain access to this Legion Event.
  • When you’ve found the Ghostly Rein item in your inventory, use it as if it was a consumable. This will send it to the stable.
  • You can get multiple Ghostly Rein items, but they really serve no purpose. I’ve found three so far.

Legion Events are one of my favorite world events in the game. It’s so fun to be in a death ball, deleting everything that spawns in within seconds. But remember to use the campfires at these events when you see them. If you’re not sure what campfires do, check out our explanation here: What Does the Campfire Do in Diablo 4? – Answered.
