How to Get the Roar of the Bear in Destiny 2

Let’s cut to the chase. If you want Roar of the Bear before Lightfall’s release on February 28, you’re going to have to act fast. This rocket launcher is currently only available from the Iron Banner. But to get it, expect to spend a lot of time shooting and standing on points in the Iron Banner.

That’s because Roar of the Bear is available as a Rank 16 award for Iron Banner, and can be claimed by speaking to Lord Saladin after you’ve reached this illustrious rank and claimed your engram. Not only will you get this Legendary Rocket Launcher, you’ll also get the shader Iron Countershade and 2 Enhancement Prisms.

And once you obtain it, you can also focus it. You’ll just need one Iron Engram, 20,000 Glimmer, and 25 Legendary Shards. But is it worth it? Here’s the best roll for Roar of the Bear:

God Roll for Roar of the Bear in Destiny 2

The Roar of the Bear is preferable for PvE scenarios and while it’s currently outpaced by other options, Lightfall will bring with it a host of fresh changes. Including changes to the way subclasses are approached. And because Roar of the Bear has so much interaction with subclasses, in the form of Chain Reaction and Incandescent, it might prove to be a dark horse in the coming Season.

The ideal perks for it are:

  • Basic Launcher Barrel → Quick Launch. Velocity +10, Handling +15.
  • Basic Magazine → Alloy Casing. -10 Stability, Reload Speed +30.
  • Basic Trait 1 → Tracking Module. Adds tracking capability to rockets. Locks onto targets when aiming down sight. Passively grants 5 Blast Radius.
  • Basic Trait 2 → Vorpal Weapon. Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active.

While this is the current God Roll, it’s possible that will change in Season 20. So, just in case, focus one with either Incandescent or Chain Reaction.
