How to Get “The Recluse” in Destiny 2: Into the Light

The Recluse rejoins the SMG meta in Destiny 2...

The Recluse has always been a fan-favorite Sub Machine Gun in Destiny 2. Now, with the arrival of Into the Light, players finally have another chance to obtain this infamous weapon.

While Into the Light has also brought along with it a number of fan-favorite weapons as a part of the BRAVE arsenal, The Recluse in particular has sparked interest among many players. So with that said, here’s how to get The Recluse in Destiny 2.

To obtain The Recluse in Destiny 2, all players have to do is take part in the brand new hoard-mode PvE activity, Onslaught.

While this weapon is also a part of the loot pool after completing Onslaught activities, there is another surefire way to get this weapon by completing a quest. The vendor Arcite 99-40 sells a series of quests that unlock a specific weapon from the BRAVE arsenal. And it just so happens, that The Recluse has its very own quest.

To complete this quest, simply acquire it from Arcite, and follow the steps. The steps are pretty straightforward, requiring you to get rapid kills with SMGs in any activity in Destiny 2. However, we advise you to complete this quest step in Onslaught as you will be granted increased progress.

Once you’ve got a certain amount of rapid kills with SMGs, simply return to the Hall of Champions, activate The Recluse’s weapon attunement, and collect your reward. If you wish to continue focus-farming The Recluse, keep the attunement activated as it increases The Recluse’s drop rate by 50%.

Is The Recluse In Destiny 2 Good?

The Recluse is a good well-rounded SMG for both PvE and PvP. However, due to some changes that Bungie made to its perks, this variant has slightly fallen from grace.

Its inherent “Master of Arms” perk has been nerfed, and now only offers players a 15% damage boost, on par with the perk “Frenzy”. When compared to other meta-dominating SMGs such as Unending Tempest, Shayura’s Wrath, and even the recently introduced Multimach CCX, The Recluse can definitely hold its own, but it won’t be dominating by any means.

So there you have it, that’s how to get The Recluse in Destiny 2 Into the Light. This update has brought players a decent amount of content that should keep everyone occupied until the arrival of The Final Shape in June.

Until next time, Guardians.
