How to acquire and equip the Elite Knife in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

Just like its many predecessors and the original game it was based on, the Resident Evil 4 Remake features a variety of unlockable, powerful weapons for players to obtain that can make higher difficulty modes much easier. The newly released Separate Ways expansion is no exception, as the DLC introduces a few special armaments for Ada to acquire, including an infinite combat melee weapon called the “Elite Knife.” Here are the requirements and a walkthrough for how to obtain Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways’ infinite combat knife.

Infinite Knife Requirements in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

To gain access to the infinite combat knife in Separate Ways, you must complete every Merchant request in the new Resident Evil DLC. In total, there are seven side missions interspersed through the DLC’s seven chapters. Completing each request will earn Pesetas, Spinel, and will unlock the Elite Knife, which can be purchased from the Extra Content Shop.

How to Unlock the Infinite Knife in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

To unlock the Infinite Combat Knife so you can use it in Separate Ways, you will need to go to the main menu of the Resident Evil 4 remake.

From the Resident Evil 4 main menu go to Bonuses.

From Bonuses, select Extra Content Shop.

In the Separate Ways tab of the Extra Content Shop, you can purchase the Elite Knife for 1,000 CP. Once it is purchased, you can access the infinite combat knife during Separate Ways. The special melee weapon is unbreakable, negating the need for other knives in the DLC, and is particularly useful on higher difficulties, speed runs, or knife-only challenges in Separate Ways.

How to Access the Infinite Knife in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

To add the Elite Knife to your inventory during Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways, find any typewriter and open the storage.

From typewriter storage, you can add the indestructible knife to your inventory.

Although the knife is unbreakable, you will still need to upgrade its power and attack speed to gain the full benefit of the Elite Knife.

To recap, to obtain the infinite combat knife in Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways, do the following:

  • Complete every Merchant request during your first run of Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways
  • Purchase the Elite Knife from the Extra Content Shop in the main menu
  • Add it to your inventory from one of the in-game typewriters in Separate Ways
