How to Get the Claws of Ahamkara in Destiny 2

An Exotic that adds a little extra slap to your arsenal

As someone who spends 80% of their time as a Devour Voidlock, there is nothing that brings me more pleasure than punching an enemy to death and watching my health restore to full. Or, even better, watching my void-infused melee chase a Guardian down and kill him as he tries to hide behind a crate. You know what makes it even better? The Claws of Ahamkara. Here is how to get the Claws of Ahamkara in Destiny 2.

How to Get the Claws of Ahamkara in Destiny 2

Now, let us be upfront. The Claws of Ahamkara are an Exotic Warlock Gauntlet that requires a specific playstyle in order to see real value. Its intrinsic perk, The Whispers, gives you an additional melee charge. But compared to other Exotics, like Starfire Protocol and Nezarec’s Sin, which offer more overarching benefits, it feels a little lackluster.

But Claws of Ahamkara pairs very well with the Strand Subclass and Arcane Needle, as Arcane Needle has insane range. The downside? A massive cooldown at one minute thirty seconds. Claws of Ahamkara help mitigate this, and you can add the aspect of Thread of Fury to further complete the build if you want to lean heavily into Arcane Needle.

Otherwise, Claws of Ahamkara is just okay, both in PvE and PvP and getting it is very straightforward. The Claws of Ahamkara have been part of Destiny 2 since its release, and thus are part of the world drop loot pool. That means you can find it by killing enemies, taking part in playlist activities, claiming your Exotic Engram from the Season Pass, and grabbing an Exotic Engram from Xur.

Speaking of Xur! He also sells it, and it is currently available in his wares in the EDZ of the Winding Cove. It costs a mere twenty-three Legendary Shards, so if you do not have this Gauntlet in your collection, why not purchase it?
