How to Get the Aspect of Decay in Diablo 4

Well yeah, Necromancers are kinda the embodiment of Decay.

The central part of creating a late-game build in Diablo 4 lies in its Aspects, passives that are either applied to Rare items or come pre-equipped on Legendary gear. These Aspects can either change how any character players or change an ability on a specific character meant for specific builds. One such Aspect changes how one of the class’ key passives works, thus making it an excellent choice for one specific build. Here’s how to get the Aspect of Decay in Diablo 4.

Where to Find the Aspect of Decay in Diablo 4

The Aspect of Decay can only be found as a random drop from chests, breakables, or enemies. It can’t be dropped from a specific Dungeon like many other Aspects, unfortunately. If you’re looking to farm this Aspect, or any other Aspect that is gotten through random chance for that matter, your best bet is farming Dungeons and world events until it drops. You’ll need to grind quite a bit, so be sure to farm this alongside whatever else you need to do. With some time and effort, the Aspect of Decay should be yours.

What Does the Aspect of Decay Do in Diablo 4?

The Aspect of Decay affects the Shadowblight key passive for Necromancers, causing any damage from the key passive to increase the damage of the next Shadowblight damage tick within a short time to deal 20-40% increased damage (depending on the item roll). This can stack up to five times, meaning an increase of anywhere from 100-200% increased damage on subsequent Shadowblight damage ticks.

As you may have guessed, this makes Shadow and Darkness builds immensely useful, with the more procs of Shadow damage done, the higher the potential DPS. One particular situation where this could be useful is during boss fights, whereas many procs onto the boss as possible can help to severely whittle down its HP.
