How to Get Riot Shotgun in Starfield

This one is an absolute riot!

What traits do you seek out when you’re actively shopping for a shotgun in Starfield? Do you want something that deals a ton of damage at close range? How about fully automatic? The Riot Shotgun sounds fantastic on paper, but it deals EM damage. If that’s not a dealbreaker for you, then awesome. Here is how to get Riot Shotgun in Starfield.

Where to Get Riot Shotgun in Starfield

To get Riot Shotgun in Starfield, you must visit Cydonia and then go into the Residential District to speak with Jane of Jane’s Goods. She’s the only independent trader in the settlement, and she’ll happily sell you this unique shotgun, but first, she’s dealing with some difficulties of her own. She needs help retrieving her pilot and ship, which starts the “Start-up Stopped” side quest. You must complete this side quest first before you can buy Riot Shotgun.

Overall, this side quest is simple. It has three key objectives:

  1. Find the Berry Mule.
  2. Speak to the Mercenary Leader.
  3. Free Erick and return to Jane.

You can use persuasion to convince the Mercenary Leader, Gustavo, to release Erick. Either way, your goal is to bring the pilot and starship back home to Cydonia.

Riot Shotgun Stats and Details

First and foremost, note how Riot Shotgun has seven pre-installed weapon modifications attached from the get-go. It’s a non-lethal powerhouse. If you don’t mind dealing non-lethal damage, which is especially useful for morally good characters, then Riot Shotgun is likely the best EM weapon you’ll find this side of Kryx.

  • Weapon Type: Shotgun
  • Damage Type: EM
  • Damage: 25
  • Ammunition Type: 15×25 CLL Shotgun Shell
  • Magazine Size: 6
  • Fire Rate: 15
  • Range: 22
  • Accuracy: 66.8%
  • Mass: 7.90
  • Value: 30510
  • Mod Slot 1: Recon Laser Sight
  • Mod Slot 2: Short Scope
  • Mod Slot 3: Choke
  • Mod Slot 4: EM-Charged Shot
  • Mod Slot 5: Tactical Stock
  • Mod Slot 6: Hair Trigger
  • Mod Slot 7: Fully Automatic
  • Rare Effect: Concussive – A slight chance to knock targets to the ground.
  • Item ID: 00162CF8

If your goal is to temporarily incapacitate an enemy so that you may move past unharmed, then Riot Shotgun is the best close-range option in the game. It doesn’t deal as much EM weapon damage as, say, the Novablast Disruptor, but it helps.

But if you want something with a bit more stopping power, then I recommend going for Shattered Shock in Starfield.
