Where to Find Potatoes in Starfield

There are two ways to find potatoes in Starfield:

  • Purchase from general stores
  • Find in the environment or as enemy loot

Buying potatoes from a shop like Shepherd’s General Store in Akila City or Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis is the easiest and quickest way to get multiple potatoes. You’ll find them in the Aid section of the shop.

Tip:

If you can’t see any potatoes on the list, wait 24 in-game hours before rechecking the store’s available supplies.

Typically, potatoes cost around 30 credits per unit, with one or two available at a time. Like before, if you want to buy several potatoes, you can wait on a bench or chair before opening the shop again, buying every potato in stock, then repeating the process until you have the amount you need. Alternatively, you can hop between shops and check their Aid section.

If you don’t want to spend money on potatoes, you can also find some in the open world or on enemy bodies. In particular, if you find any kitchens, dining rooms, or other places in a building where people would typically store a potato, there’s a chance you’ll find one lying around.

Similarly, like most other items in Starfield, potatoes have a random chance to appear on enemy bodies when you defeat and loot them. While the odds are low, it’s still worth checking bodies in case one randomly appears while you’re out questing.
