How to Get Overqwil in Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

Pointy balloon incoming

Evolving your alternate form Qwilfish in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk is not as straightforward as it seems since it won’t get a new form simply upon leveling up. Its trainer must put some extra effort into it, but fortunately, it isn’t something very difficult.

How to Evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Indigo Disk

Hisuian Qwilfish evolves into Overqwil once it levels up while knowing Barb Barrage. It has no level restriction, but Barb Barrage is learned at Level 28, making it the earliest you can evolve it. Overqwil also learns its previous form’s whole moveset, so you’re free to evolve it as soon as you want.

If you happened to catch a Qwilfish in Blueberry Academy, though, they’ll be way too over leveled and have already forgotten the move. So you’ll need to relearn it by checking its summary and heading into its moves before your little Hisuian puffin fish can reach its definitive form.

After that, it’s just a matter of leveling it once again in a few battles with it as the main star or in the background. Alternatively, just use a Rare Candy or some Exp. Candy if you want, because you probably have tons of these in your inventory if you’ve been doing some Tera Raids recently. The Pokemon will evolve as soon as it levels up.

Where to Catch Qwilfish in Pokemon The Indigo Disk

While being originally from Legends: Arceus, Qwilfish can be caught in the Terarium area in water zones. They’re mostly present in the Polar Biome, and it’s pretty easy to spot one of them right next to the Central Plaza. Head to Polar from there and you’ll see a few water spots in which Qwilfish often spawns. It’s not a rare sight, so you’ll find it in no time.

Getting another evolution is just another step into completing your Pokedex, which definitely takes a long while. But it’s more than worth in the end.
